Guidance notes for BFS grants and awards
The awards listed will be awarded only at each Annual Meeting.
All awards are open to sponsorship. The BFS Secretary or Treasurer will advise what arrangements are currently in place. If an award is not currently sponsored then this presents an additional sponsorship opportunity.
Sponsors of these awards should be acknowledged in the programme thus: Best Young Scientist Abstract Session sponsored by..................(name of the sponsoring company).
Candidates for the above mentioned awards must indicate their wish to be considered for one only of the awards on the abstract submission form.
All abstracts indicating a wish to be considered for an award will be reviewed by the Abstract Review Committee, normally this is the BFS Meetings Sub-Committee. For joint meetings with the SRF and BAS alternative arrangements may be made.
Up to six short-listed papers in the Best Young Scientist and Best Young Clinician category will be presented in award Paper Sessions under these headings.
An overall winner of both Best Young Scientist and Best Young Clinician categories will be chosen and awarded the Fertility Society of Australia Award.
The LOC will nominate a panel of judges for each of the award sessions. In this respect the same judges must attend both the Best Young Scientist and Best Young Clinician sessions which must not run parallel. A panel of three judges should be chosen.
Each award winner will be presented with a BFS Certificate and Cheque at the Dinner of the Annual Meeting. Certificates will be prepared by the BFS Secretary and cheques issued by the BFS Treasurer.
All abstracts will be presented by the first named author unless prior permission has been granted by the BFS Meetings Sub Committee. Failure to do so will disqualify the paper from consideration for an award.
